It was a big day of squash as the JV squad headed to Porters for matches against Hopkins and Porters. Ultimately the Martlets played their best squash of the season, earning two more wins to create a five-game winning streak. In their first match against Hopkins, the Martlets were dominant at most spots on the ladder. The closest matches were at the top of the ladder. Camilla Norton ‘25 at #2 lost the first game but came back to win the next three. Maddie Clark ‘25 at #1 had the match of the match. The first game went to 15-13 and we knew we were in for a marathon. Maddie won that one but proceeded to lost the next two. 过觉得, she found her confidence and put away her opponent 11-6 and 11-7 in the final two frames to clinch the sweep. Porters also defeated Hopkins so we knew we had a competitive second match on tap. Alex Musser ‘26 was unrelenting in both of of her matches at #4, the only Martlet not to lose a game on the day. Norton went the distance in her match but could not pull off the fifth game. Caroline Callen ‘26, playing at a season-high #6, got better and better all day long. She dropped the first two games but fought back to take the next two. There was not quite enough fuel in the tank and she also lost in five. The odd matches, however, would be all Westy. 格蕾丝 Kim ‘25 took care of business at #7 winning in four as did Clover Cooper ‘26 at #3. Clark played another strong opponent at #1 but continued to ride her wave of confidence, 四分钟就搞定了战斗雏菊. Lucy Morton ‘26 at #5 was the last match on and she closed things out with a 12-10 win in the fourth game. The girls were exhausted but it was a rewarding set of wins as the team looks to their final match against Taft on Wednesday.
